Welcome!

Hello again from the beaches and wetlands of the deep south. Thank you for your patience as I sort out the best venue for my writing efforts.

Shortly after college, my husband, daughter and I made the move to a big city for promising jobs and exciting experiences. After seven years of stress, traffic and a transient population, I began to crave a return to the coast. Eager to find anything online to connect me to home, I searched for new restaurants on the beach, houses for sale and happenings in coastal Georgia. Eventually, we were able to pack up our now three kids and head back to the Lowcountry. I immediately found a house to rent with a view and volunteered at the local marine science museum to walk the beaches in the summer searching for sea turtle nests. It was pure satisfaction to be back in the salt air.

At mylowcountrycoast.com, we will explore our regional area and cuisine, as well as  provide great DIY projects from our beach house on Tybee Island. We also will write on our coastal travels, with informative tips and personal experiences sure to help as you visit new places by the sea. Our family is immersed in our nautical life. We boat, travel and relax in as many ocean environments as we can experience. This blog is a one-stop shop for DIY projects, seaside adventures and our (hopefully successful) beach house remodel. Subscribe and enjoy!
